Martin Starr (Eddie a.k.a. Eyeball) starred in the short-lived NBC Drama FREAKS & GEEKS as "Bill Haverchuck." But after NBC's cancellation he became something of an icon to the die-hard followers of the show and inspired the "Operation Haverchuck" movement from FREAKS & GEEKS fans across America. We cast Martin in EYEBALL EDDIE two weeks BEFORE NBC discovered him! Then our little student film began "negotiations" with NBC lawyers and eventually we had to decide if we wanted to re-cast the part of EDDIE or push the entire production schedule by a month to accommodate Martin's FREAKS & GEEKS pilot shoot. We pushed our schedule & never looked back.

Michael Rosenbaum (Tom Skelley) had a leading role in the film URBAN LEGEND and many stellar supporting roles in films like MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL and the then upcoming RAVE MACBETH. He had starred in several television series including ZOE, DUNCAN, JACK & JANE (playing "Jack") on the WB. Michael plays a very convincing bully in EYEBALL EDDIE and in fact several people, when watching the film, have commented that "this guy must be type cast - he seems like a real jerk." But in fact Michael is a sweetheart and just an extremely versatile actor. All of this took place before he became the nemesis to the Man of Steel.

M. Emmet Walsh (Coach Cook) is a veteran of screen and Television since 1959 when he guest starred on Bonanza. He's appeared in almost 200 movies and made dozens of Television appearances. Some of his most notable performances are in BLOOD SIMPLE, RAISING ARIZONA, THE JERK and ORDINARY PEOPLE. In the middle of our shoot, his Agent called and told us she'd have to pull him from production for a day because an actor had died that was supposed to guest star on The X-Files the next morning. David Duchovny had requested Emmet specifically to replace him in the role. We had to reschedule and shoot around Emmet for the next day but hey, who were we to argue? As his agent pointed out Emmet's salary for the day on X-files was over 3 times the entire budget of our film. Yeesh.
